Having obtained early retirement in 1999 allows me the oppertunity to devote two or three days a week to the Bluebell Railway Preservation Society as a working volunteer. I work in two departments; (1) Operations Department as a train Guard and at Kingscote Station, and (2) the Lineside Clearance Group on Wednesdays.
Most of my Bluebell Railway photos are taken during working visits, and is the reason why some photographs feature locations outside the permitted boundaries of the Lineside Pass.
I also find time to regularly 'moonlight' as a train Guard on the Lynton & Barnstaple Railway at Woody Bay in the unspoilt countryside in North Devon. The railway is surrounded by beautiful landscape and an exceptional environment.
Photos have been taken using an Olympus C-960, and more latterly a Fujifilm FinePix S5700 Digital Camera.
